Have a question about the CST Inspired Minds Learning Project?

What are the eligibility criteria for the Learning Project? What kinds of organizations and activities will you fund?

In 2021, the Learning Project will support activities designed to help K-12 children and youth from lower-income families across Canada improve their academic skills and engagement. Click here to for our eligibility criteria.

We will support both new and existing activities.

What do you mean by “academic upskilling and engagement” activities?

Academic upskilling and engagement programs are those that support children to obtain the necessary grades, skills, and self-confidence to succeed in school. This helps ensure that students are academically prepared and equipped to pursue post-secondary education. Click here for examples of academic upskilling activities.

What do you mean by “lower-income families”?

We understand that there are various definitions for the term “low-income” in Canada. Therefore, organizations should self-identify as one that serves lower-income families. You will be able to provide information about the characteristics of your target community in the application form.

Can anyone apply?

Only not for profit organizations can apply to the Learning Project.

You cannot apply as an individual. However, if you have an idea you’d like to implement, see if you can find a Canadian not-for-profit organization to partner with who may have a need.

Can I submit more than one application?

No, each organization can only submit one application.

I received a Learning Project grant last year. Can I apply again?

Yes, Learning Project grantees from previous years are allowed to apply again, although they will not be given special consideration.

Can anyone apply?

Only not for profit organizations can apply to the Learning Project.

I’m having technical trouble during the application process. What do I do?

Not to worry! There are two things you can do.

Can I edit my application once I submit it?

Applications can be edited up until close at 11:59pm EST on Friday, June 11, 2021. Simply log back in and you will be able to make changes to any part of your application.

What happens once I submit my application?

After you submit your application, the CST Foundation team will evaluate it. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by July 31, 2021.

If I am selected as a grantee, when can I expect to receive my funds?

All successful applicants will be notified and receive their funding by July 31, 2021.
